Applications Invited for Youth Investment Fund (YIF) Phase 2 Pilot

Children & Young People

30 May 2022/Categories: Grants_and_Funding

Funding to test out the YIF approach ahead of the launch of Phase 2.

Through its YIF Phase 2, the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) intends to provide up to 300 new and redeveloped youth facilities in eligible levelling up areas across England.

By making pilot funding available ahead of the fund opening, DCMS aims to:

  • Build four or more youth facilities over 2022/23.
  • Gain feedback and learning from the build process that can inform the design, procurement and construction of future YIF-funded facilities.

Successful organisations will need to build facilities that meet the key specifications set out by DCMS in order to test the process. However, there will be some degree of flexibility over the final design of the buildings.

Recipients will not be eligible for further capital funding from YIP Phase 2 for the same site (though may be eligible for resource funding).

Applicants must be non-profit organisations with a track record of delivering youth work to a high standard, and own, or have the ability to develop, an appropriate site in an eligible area.

If successful, groups will receive:

  • Support throughout the planning and construction stages of the youth facility.
  • Costs associated with construction.
  • Potential resource funding to assist with the set up and initial operation of the centre.

The provision of match funding is desirable.

The deadline to apply is 23.59 on 19 June 2022.

How To Apply

Phase 1 has now closed due to sufficient applications being received.

Applications for Phase 2 Pilot funding are open until 23.59 on 19 June 2022.

Full guidelines, FAQs and the online grants portal can be found on the BBC Children in Need website.
