Annual cash price celebrating an organisation that has made an extraordinary contribution to the alleviation of human suffering.
At US$2.5 million, the Hilton Humanitarian Prize is the world’s largest annual humanitarian award, recognising the achievements of charitable or non-profit organisations around the world.
Typically, up to 300 organisations are nominated each year for this prize, with one winner receiving the full award.
Nominations should emphasise the organisation's accomplishments rather than future goals. The following are suggested criteria to consider:
- Extraordinary contributions toward alleviating human suffering.
- Established record of achievement covering at least five years.
- Demonstration of compelling programmatic approach to make a lasting impact.
- Demonstration of effective partnerships, organisational capacity and administrative efficiency.
- Innovation in programme design.
The 2022 winner has been announced as the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), which supports displaced individuals in over 35 countries.
Nominations for 2023 will be accepted from 19 August 2022 to 28 September 2022.
