A funding programme to support research into potential security vulnerabilities in internet-connected office devices is accepting applications.
A grant is available to a UK business to support research into the cyber security of office devices which can connect to the internet, to ensure they are properly protected against hackers.
The grant is part of the UK Government's £2.6 billion National Cyber Strategy to protect the UK from cyber threats and grow the digital economy. It supports the UK's objective to take the lead in the technologies vital to cyber power and secure the Internet of Things and connected technologies used by consumers and enterprises.
The funding will be used by the successful bidder to research potential vulnerabilities in popular devices to better protect against cyber risks, with the findings helping to make sure current security measures and guidance are robust enough for evolving threats.
Applications will be accepted from businesses with a United Kingdom presence and who can deliver the intended grant objective in the UK. In case of a consortium of bidders, the lead applicant must have a UK presence.
The following criteria apply:
- The grant award must not exceed 50% of the applicant's annual income/turnover or collective annual income/turnover if applying as a formal consortium.
- Applicants can make a maximum of two applications. They must submit a separate, stand-alone application for each project.
A grant of up to £200,000 is available to the successful bidder.
The deadline for applications is 29 October 2022 (14:00 BST).
