Emergency Funding Available for Storm-Damaged Community Facilities

Sports, Leisure and Tourism

01 March 2022/Categories: Grants_and_Funding

Groups can apply for grants to support the repair of sports facilities in the wake of recent storms across England.

Sport England has announced it will provide grants of up to £15,000 to community organisations and public bodies if they are in charge of a sports facility which has incurred flood or storm damage and requires support to reopen.

Grants can be used to:

  • Repair storm-damaged buildings and roofs.
  • Grass and artificial pitches.
  • Decontaminate flooded clubhouses.
  • Replace damaged electrical systems or clear blocked drains.

Funding may also cover the hire of skips, pressure hoses or tarpaulins to secure exposed buildings (for use when safe to do so).

Public sector organisations such as local authorities and councils must provide £:£ match funding to be eligible.

Groups should apply using the Queen's Jubilee Platinum Activity Fund form using the project reference 'Storm 22' and including a picture of the damaged facility.

Applications are accepted at any time.

How To Apply

Applications can be submitted at any time. Decisions are expected in around ten days.

Groups should apply using the Queen's Jubilee Platinum Activity Fund form using the project reference 'Storm 22' and including a picture of the damaged facility.
