FCC Communities Foundation Welcomes Applications to Spring Round

Community

15 March 2022/Categories: Grants_and_Funding

Non-profit groups and Local Authorities in the vicinity of a local FCC landfill site can apply for grants for social, environmental and community-based projects starting in mid March.

The FCC Communities Foundation awards grants to community projects from funds donated by FCC Environment through the Landfill Communities Fund, having provided over £250 million to more than £7,500 projects across the UK since 1997.

Through the Community Action Fund, grants of £2,000 to £100,000 are available for projects with a maximum total cost of £500,000.

The Foundation is encouraging eligible groups to apply as the funding pot is larger than forecasted this year.

Applications will be considered from the following types of organisations:

  • Registered charities which operate a community facility.
  • Churches or Parochial Church Councils.
  • Parish or Town Councils or Management Committees or User Associations acting on behalf of Parish or Town Councils.
  • Local Authorities.
  • CASC Registered Sports Clubs.

Projects must be based within 10 miles of an eligible FCC Environment waste facility in England. Applicants should use the online calculator to determine whether their proposed project meets this requirement.

The funding can be used for the provision, maintenance or improvement of public amenities including community centres, play areas and museums. All sites must be open and accessible for the general public without limit or restriction.

Grants can cover costs such as:

  • Contractors.
  • Materials.
  • Capital items.
  • Small items of equipment used by volunteers and staff to deliver the project.

Applicants should refer to the FCC Communities Foundation website to read the full guidelines before starting the application process.

Applications will be accepted from 16 March to 8 June 2022 (5pm).

How To Apply

Applicants should refer to the guidance notes before starting the application process.

Applications must be made using the online application system which is available on the website of the FCC Communities Foundation.

The 2022 rounds are as follows:
