Government Launches Nuclear Test Veteran Community Fund

Community

21 February 2023/Categories: Grants_and_Funding

Funding for not-for-profit organisations to deliver community-led programmes that help to recognise and support Nuclear Test Veterans and their families.

Provided by the Office for Veterans’ Affairs, the £200,000 Nuclear Test Veteran Community Fund is offering grants of up to £70,000, with an option to apply for a grant of up to £100,000.

The funding is for projects that support veterans of the UK Armed Forces involved in British Nuclear Testing between 1952 and 1967 including those serving in Australia and the South Pacific.

Programmes must address at least one of the following objectives:

  • To provide bespoke direct support to Nuclear Test Veterans and their families. Including through (but not limited to) case working, signposting or mental health support.
  • To memorialise the service of Nuclear Test Veterans, providing a lasting memory of the service and experience of veterans involved in the development of our nuclear deterrent.
  • To raise public awareness of the service of Nuclear Test Veterans, including through the development of educational resources. Resources should be evidence-led and non-political.

Applications will be accepted from charities, Community Interest Companies, and intergovernmental organisations and other organisations with a formal not-for-profit constitution (set of rules) or governing document which shows its objectives and management structure.

How To Apply

Applications will be accepted from 15 February 2023 to 10 March 2023 (23:59).

The guidance notes and application form can be found on the GOV.UK website.
