Not-for-profit groups have until the end of March to apply before the Trust closes until December 2022.
The Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust (JRCT) has announced it will be closing applications to its August 2022 grant round to allow time for ongoing work and development at the Trust.
Applications will be accepted for the 28 March 2022 deadline, and will then reopen in December 2022, with the exact date as of yet unconfirmed.
A statement given by the Trust on the decision to close explains:
“As an organisation, we are going through a time of change resulting from recent growth, our response to the pandemic, and crucially, efforts to confront our colonial history. These developments raise important questions about our work as a Trust, which we need time to address.
The closure of the grant round will ease workload pressures among the staff team to allow us the time to needed to engage with the change process.”
The Trust offers several grant streams which focus on tackling the root causes of social and economic issues such as poverty, conflict and injustice.
Potential applicants should be aware that they must have an account with the Trust’s grant management system in order to apply. Groups who do not already have one must register for an account at least two weeks before the application deadline.
The deadline to apply for the current round is 28 March 2022.
