UK registered businesses and partner organisations can apply for funding to support innovative clean maritime technologies.
The Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition (CMDC) aims to fund real world demonstrations of clean maritime technologies in an operational setting. Proposals must develop, test and deploy novel clean maritime technologies focused on both on-vessel technologies and related shoreside infrastructure, including at ports and harbours.
The Round 3 competition is split into two strands:
- Strand 1: Vessel or Infrastructure Demonstrations
- Strand 2: Combined Demonstrations
Demonstration projects must develop, test and deploy novel clean maritime technologies focused on on-vessel technologies or shoreside or offshore infrastructure including at ports, harbours and wind farms.
Up to £60 million has been allocated across the two competition strands. For the Vessel or Infrastructure Demonstrations competition, each project’s total costs must be between £1 million and £8 million. For the Combined Demonstrations Competition, each project’s total eligible costs must be between £2 million and £10 million.
The competitions are open to collaborations only. To lead a project an organisation must be a UK registered business of any size. The lead must collaborate with other UK registered organisations, ie a business of any size, academic institution, charity, not-for-profit, public sector organisation, or research and technology organisation (RTO). Trust Ports may apply as a business of any size.
