UK registered organisations can apply for funding for feasibility studies into ways to improve and scale-up semiconductor design and manufacture within the UK.
The aim of this Innovate UK (IUK) competition is to enable UK businesses in the semiconductor supply chain to develop their manufacturing capability. This will be achieved by building resilience for the key area of enabling technologies.
This competition has been launched with the aims of:
- Understanding the existing facilities and capabilities.
- Identifying best practice.
- Establishing innovations and new manufacturing techniques.
- Encouraging new collaborations across industry and academia.
Up to £1.5 million has been allocated to fund feasibility study projects. Each project’s total costs must not exceed £150,000.
The competition is open to single applicants and collaborations. To lead a project, an organisation must be a UK registered business of any size. It must be, or involve, at least one grant claiming micro, small or medium-sized enterprise (SME).
To collaborate with the lead, an organisation must be a UK registered business of any size, academic institution, charity, not for profit, public sector organisation, or research and technology organisation (RTO).
