Groups have two weeks left to apply for grants for projects which target illegal money lending.
Organisations intending to apply to the Stop Loan Sharks Fund in 2022 should be aware of the approaching deadline at the end of the month.
Local residents' groups, charities, private companies, social enterprises, community and voluntary groups, schools and statutory agencies in England can still apply for grants of up to £5,000 from the £160,000 funding pot.
The funding can be used for ‘any worthwhile’ community project that meets the following criteria:
- Contributes to raising awareness of the dangers of using loan sharks.
- Prevents crime and disorder and makes a difference in local communities.
- Promotes the work of the Illegal Money Lending Team (IMLT) in communities.
- Encourages reporting of loan sharks and signposts victims to the team.
Successful applicants will be expected to book free “Stop Loan Sharks” training which will be delivered by a member of the IMLT for staff and/or volunteers (if they have not already had this).
Applications must be submitted by 30 June 2022.
How To Apply
The deadline to apply is 30 June 2022, with notifications expected on 20 July 2022.
