    Bitts Park (CA3 8UL)

    The park is a peaceful haven only 800 metres from the City Centre, comprising formal gardens, riverside walks, children’s play area and splash park (operates 11am-6pm), running routes and sports facilities.

    A great place for relaxing, having fun and connecting with nature. The Rivers Eden and Caldew form the park’s Northern and Western boundaries respectively..

    Bitts Park is the home to Carlisle's premier play area with splash park, an outdoor active space and skate park.

    A limited amount of free parking is available on a first come first served basis opposite the entrance to the Sheepmount athletics stadium, off Sheepmount Road. Further pay and display car parks can be found off Dacre Road (East of Carlisle Castle) and Devonshire Walk (West of Carlisle Castle).

    Further pedestrian access to the park may be gained from Hardwick Circus, Eden Bridge and the City Centre.

    Bitts Park is easily accessable by using public transport links to Carlisle City Centre.

    Kingmoor South Local Nature Reserve (CA3 9QH)

    Once the home of Carlisle's horse racing course, Kingmoor South is now a tranquil woodland situated in the north of Carlisle. There are two small car parks, the first located on Kingmoor Road, the second at the end of Westmoor Road.The site can be reached on foot by one of the many entrances from the Lowry Hill housing estate, from Kingstown Industrial Estate and by following the path from Kingmoor North Nature Reserve.

    Kingstown Wildlife Pond (CA3 OHE)

    Kingstown Wildlife Pond is an ideal habitat for some of the amphibians and dragonflies living in Carlisle. Located between Lowry Hill Road and Kingstown Industrial Estate it is one of Carlisle's hidden gems. There is a small car park situated at the end of Wakefield Road, pedestrian access can be gained from Lowry Hill Road and the Kingstown Industrial Estate as well as by following the link path from Kingmoor South Nature Reserve.

    Chances Park (CA2 6JP)

    Chances Park is specially landscaped to offers great views of the city of Carlisle. The main entrance to Chance's Park and the community centre is off the Wigton Road (A595) where there is a free car park for visitors. There is pedestrian access off Dunmallet Rigg, Wigton Road, Dunmail Drive, Park Road and Langrigg Road.

    Chance’s Park is situated on high ground within the Morton Area of Carlisle, to the West of City. The park forms the grounds of Morton Manor, once the home of the Chance family, now a Community Centre.  Free visitor parking is available at the Community Centre, situated off Wigton Road. Pedestrian access to the park may be gained from Dunmallet Rigg, Langrigg Road, Park Road, Dunmail Drive and Wigton Road.
