Carlisle City Council is providing local businesses with free access to its local business support and grant portal provided by Open4Business. This is tailored for the Carlisle area and includes local, regional and national schemes.

Business can also search for funding relevant to their size and sector. To use the portal, you will first need to register with Open4Business.

Amazon Launchpad's Business Innovation Awards Inviting Entries

Amazon's annual awards competition for innovative startups is accepting entries to its 2022 programme.

Entries are being invited to the latest edition of the Amazon Launchpad Innovation Awards, a competition designed to support innovative startups.

The Innovation Awards programme is designed to recognise ground-breaking startups and find the most innovative products, rewarding winners with a grant package and related Amazon business support.

Entries will be accepted from businesses meeting all the following criteria:

The business is registered in the UK, Switzerland, or an EEA country.
The business is selling a physical product to consumers.
The business is the brand owner of the product entered.
The business employs fewer than 250 employees and has a total annual turnover of less than €50 million, and/or an annual balance sheet total not exceeding €43 million at the time of entry.

The overall winner of the 2022 Amazon Launchpad Innovation Awards will receive the following benefits:

€100,000 (approximately £83,000) to support business growth and development.
Free access to Amazon Launchpad for one year.
A featured seller placement on Amazon Launchpad.
A license to use the Awards logo.
An Amazon Launchpad Innovation Awards trophy.

The 20 Awards finalists will receive:

A featured seller placement on Amazon Launchpad.
A license to use the Awards logo.
An Amazon Launchpad Innovation Awards trophy.

The Startup of the Year winner will receive:

A featured seller placement on Amazon Launchpad.
A license to use the Awards logo.
An Amazon Launchpad Innovation Awards trophy.

The product entered by the participating business must not have received any award in the context of previous editions of the Innovation Awards.

The deadline for entries is 29 May 2022 (23:59 BST).
