Groups across England have just over two weeks if they wish to apply under the current guidelines.
On 22 November 2021, the National Lottery Project Grants programme will reopen with refreshed eligibility criteria and a new application process, to better align with the delivery of Arts Council England's 2020 to 2030 strategy, Let's Create.
Artists, community and cultural organisations have until 19 November 2021 to apply and have their proposals considered under the current criteria. Any unfinished applications will be invalid after this point due to the change in application forms.
Currently, there are two levels of funding available:
- Smaller grants - £1,000 to £15,000, with decisions expected in up to 10 weeks.
- Larger grants - £15,000 to £100,000, with decisions expected in up to 16 weeks.
Funding can support a broad range of creative and cultural projects that benefit people living in England, with a focus on the following disciplines:
- Music.
- Theatre.
- Dance.
- Visual arts.
- Literature.
- Combined arts - including carnivals and festivals.
- Museum practice (accredited museums only).
- Libraries.
Until 19 November 2021, the fund will continue to give priority to smaller, independent organisations and practitioners in recognition of the difficulties they may have faced during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Both the current guidelines and the new guidelines can now be reviewed on the Arts Council England website for comparison.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
How To Apply
Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
Groups should first read the How to apply documents and the supplementary guidance regarding the priorities and criteria that applies until 19 November 2021 in light of the COVID-19 situation, all of which can be found on the Arts Council England website.
From 22 November 2021, the Fund will reopen with a new application form and new guidelines, which are now available to review on the Arts Council England website. Groups have until 19 November 2021 if they wish to apply under the current guidance.
Applications are made using Arts Council England’s Grantium system.
The programme is open on an ongoing basis. Currently, due to high volumes of applications, the review process is taking longer than usual:
- Applications for £15,000 or under are expected to receive a decision in up to 10 weeks.
- Applications for more than £15,000 are expected to receive a decision in up to 16 weeks.
