Countdown to Take Off - Carol Vorderman Backs Starling Bank Business Grants

Business Funding

13 December 2021/Categories: Grants_and_Funding

This competition offers a chance for small UK firms, with Starling Bank business accounts, to win cash grants to boost their operations.

Take Flight is a new funding opportunity created for Starling Bank business customers across the UK. Small business owners are invited to submit entries outlining their achievements, innovations, growth plans and future business goals for a chance to secure a grant.

The bank has partnered with a range of successful entrepreneurs, including television personality Carol Vorderman, and Chika Russell, who appeared on Dragons’ Den, to judge the competition entries.

The programme has an overall budget of £50,000. Ten small businesses will each win a £5,000 grant to take their business to the next level. The team at Starling will shortlist the standout entrants. Then the panel of judges, headed up by Carol Vorderman will pick the winning businesses.

The competition is open to UK-based micro businesses with fewer than 10 employees and an annual turnover of no more than £1.4 million. Businesses must have been an active Starling Business Current Account Customer for at least three months from the date of entering the competition with at least one customer initiated transaction per calendar month.

Carol Vorderman said:

'As an entrepreneur, I know how hard running a small business can be. That’s why I’ve teamed up with Starling Bank to launch its Take Flight initiative to help small businesses soar in 2022.'

The deadline for applications is 14 January 2022 (23:59 GMT).
