Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Funding Open to Local Authorities in England

Funding available to local authorities in England to support the rollout of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.

The Local EV Infrastructure (LEVI) Fund supports local authorities in England to plan and deliver chargepoint infrastructure for residents without off-street parking.

The LEVI Fund has two main objectives:

  • Deliver a step-change in the deployment of local, primarily low power, on-street charging infrastructure across England
  • Accelerate the commercialisation of, and investment in, the local charging infrastructure sector.

The fund comprises of capability funding to ensure that local authorities have the staff and capability to plan and deliver chargepoint infrastructure; and capital funding to support chargepoint delivery.

A total of £8 million is available through this current application round.

To apply for LEVI funding applicants must be either a:

  • Tier 1 local authority or combined authority (acting on behalf of authorities in their region) in England
  • Partnership or consortium led by a tier 1 local authority within England.

Eligible local authorities will receive a letter to inform them of their funding allocation and next steps.

Local authorities need to download a form from the Energy Saving Trust website to access the funding.

Completed forms must be emailed to the LEVI support body by the deadline of 26 May 2023 (11:55pm).
