Grants are available to black-led organisations across the UK to deliver bold and impactful visual arts projects.
The Space to Dream Fund is provided by the Freelands Foundation.
In June 2020, the Foundation set up a £3 million fund to support organisations to tackle racial inequality in the visual arts. The Space to Dream Fund is the third and final round of grants in this immediate £3 million fund. Grants are focused wholly on promoting racial inclusion by supporting and enabling small and medium-sized Black-led organisations, artists and practitioners to develop ideas, practices and programmes, in order to create real impact across the visual arts sector in the UK.
The Foundation uses 'Black-led' to refer to organisations run by, with and for Black and Brown people, those of African, Caribbean and Asian heritage. This could include organisational leadership, trustees, senior management, principal creatives, project managers or artists leading the project.
