Innovate UK Announces Creative Catalyst 2023 Competition

Business, Enterprise and Regeneration

05 December 2022/Categories: Grants_and_Funding

Grants are available to UK registered micro and small enterprises in the creative industries sector to help them grow their business.

Administered by Innovate UK (IUK), this competition will fund business innovation within the creative industries by providing a package of targeted and continuous support to help businesses to grow.

IUK is encouraging proposals that can demonstrate benefit to the wider creative industries subsector or regional cluster - for example, projects that:

  • Support the fashion and textiles sector's transition to a circular model.
  • Improve transparency and accountability across the online advertising supply chain.
  • Create new revenue streams and fan engagement activities in the music sector.
  • Demonstrate how advanced digital technologies, including metaverse, blockchain and AI, can transform the publishing sector.

To lead a project, the applicant must be a UK-based micro or small business (SME) from the creative industries or support the creative industries. The project must be carried out in the UK.

Up to £10 million has been allocated to fund innovation projects in this competition, which will award grants of up to £50,000. Projects must start by 1 June 2023, end by 30 November 2023 and last between 3-6 months.

The competition opens on 5 December 2022. The deadline for applications is 15 February 2023.
