Innovate UK Launches Feasibility Studies Competition for Artificial Intelligence Solutions

Business, Enterprise and Regeneration

04 April 2023/Categories: Grants_and_Funding

UK businesses can apply for grants for feasibility studies to develop innovative solutions using AI to address business challenges and opportunities.

Through this competition, Innovate UK (IUK) will invest in projects to develop Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) driven solutions that address a business challenge or opportunity in these target industry sectors:

  • Construction
  • Transport, including logistics and warehousing
  • Creative industries
  • Agriculture and food processing

The competition aims to support projects prompted by a challenge to business in an area of operations that can drive improvements in business productivity.

Projects must be a collaboration between an organisation seeking to adopt AI, with an organisation that can develop AI to help address this opportunity.

The competition is open to collaborations only. To lead a project, an organisation must be a UK registered micro, small or medium-sized enterprise (SME). The lead must collaborate with one other SME or academic institution.

IUK has allocated up to £5 million to this competition. Each project’s grant funding request must be between £25,000 and £50,000. A project can request 100% funding, to be shared between all partners.

The deadline for applications is 24 May 2023 (11:00 BST).

How To Apply

The competition opens on 28 March 2023. The deadline for applications is 24 May 2023 (11:00 BST).

Applications are made online.
