UK registered micro, small and medium enterprises can apply for funding to increase and facilitate their engagement with the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre.
Through this competition, Innovate UK (IUK) will support research and development for the scale-up of battery technologies within the UK, conducted by small and medium enterprises (SMEs). It will support SMEs to access the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC) and demonstrate technologies at suitable scales to customers.
The competition aims to move UK battery innovations from technological potential towards commercial capability, and develop and secure material and manufacturing supply chains for battery technologies in the UK.
Up to £1.5 million has been allocated to fund experimental development projects in this competition. Each project’s total costs must be between £100,000 and £1.1 million.
Funding support will be offered for labour, travel and subsistence, overheads and subcontracting only.
This competition is open to single applicants only. To lead a project an organisation must be a UK registered micro, small or medium-sized enterprise.
The deadline for applications is 4 April 2023 (11:00 BST).
