IUK Announces UK-Switzerland Bilateral Collaborative R&D Competition

UK registered organisations, in collaboration with at least one Swiss registered business, can apply funding for research projects resulting in innovative solutions.

The aim of this Innovate UK (IUK) competition is to support UK-Swiss international business-led innovation collaboration. Through grant funding, IUK will support UK businesses to collaborate with Swiss counterparts for their mutual global growth prospects.

Proposals must contribute to the development of commercial products, processes, or technical services.

Up to £2 million from Innovate UK and up to CHF 2 million from Innosuisse has been allocated to fund innovation projects in this competition. IUK will fund UK partners for feasibility projects, industrial research projects and experimental development projects. Each project’s total grant funding request must not exceed £400,000.

This competition is open to UK-Switzerland collaborations only. To lead a project, an organisation must be a UK registered business of any size. It must collaborate with at least one Swiss registered business of any size, and involve at least one research technology organisation (RTO) from either country.

To collaborate with the lead, an organisation must be a UK registered business of any size, academic institution, charity, not-for-profit, public sector organisation, research and technology organisation (RTO).

The competition opens on 17 April 2023. The deadline for applications is 26 July 2023 (12:00 BST).
