UK registered organisations can apply for funding for feasibility studies to develop and improve sustainable biomanufacturing in the UK.
Led by Innovate UK (IUK), this competition aims to develop the design and delivery of new and disruptive sustainable biomanufacturing by 2050. Funded projects will allow businesses and academic researchers to work together and develop more sustainable bio-based products, biotechnology processes and innovations.
Up to £2 million has been allocated to fund innovation projects. Each project’s total costs must be between £50,000 and £100,000.
The competition is only open to collaborative applications. To lead a project, or collaborate with the lead, an organisation must be a UK registered business of any size, academic institution, research organisation, research and technology organisation (RTO), charity, not-for-profit, or public sector organisation.
If the lead organisation is an academic institution, RTO, charity, not-for-profit or public sector organisation it must collaborate with at least one business of any size.
Applications involving collaborations with academics, research organisations and micro, small or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly encouraged to apply.
The deadline for applications is 1 February 2023 (11:00 GMT).
