Launch of £100m Offshore Coordination Support Scheme

Energy, Environment & Climate

13 December 2022/Categories: Grants_and_Funding

Grants are available for UK businesses working in consortiums to support offshore energy projects to develop coordinated options for offshore transmission infrastructure.

The Offshore Coordination Support Scheme (OCSS) will provide grant payments to enable the development of coordinated options for offshore transmission infrastructure for late-stage projects.

Coordinated offshore transmission is a novel concept and projects in scope are those that are already well advanced, and have invested substantial time and money in developing their radial/sole use connections.

Projects that that have a coordinated transmission approach, which can bring about benefits to communities, the environment, and consumers, will be supported.

Grants totalling £50 million in each of the Financial Years 2023/24 and 2024/25 (a total scheme budget of up to £100 million) will be provided. It should be noted that these amounts are not to be treated as an expected grant amount for a single application. Multiple applications are likely to be funded with the total grant fund amount.

Applications must be made by consortia of UK registered businesses. Applicants must only apply for funding expenditure that relates to activities/assets that will (when implemented) take place within Great Britain, or in the territorial sea adjacent to Great Britain; and/or in any Renewable Energy Zone.

The deadline for applications to be submitted is 28 February 2023 (17:00 GMT).
