UK registered organisations can apply for grants to support innovation in intracellular drug delivery formulations.
Through this competition, Innovate UK (IUK) will invest in innovation projects to develop solutions in product formulations for intracellular drug delivery.
The aim is to stimulate the development and manufacturing of a range of innovative formulations to improve the efficiency and results of DNA and RNA based medicines, reducing the dose, associated manufacturing raw material and energy consumption.
Up to £5 million has been allocated to fund feasibility, and industrial research projects. Each project’s total grant funding request must be between £100,000 and £1 million.
The competition is open to collaborations only. Projects must be led by a UK registered business of any size, research and technology organisation (RTO), public sector organisation, charity or not-for-profit organisation. To collaborate with the lead, an organisation must be a business, academic institution, RTO, charity, not-for-profit, or public sector organisation.
Applications must involve at least one grant claiming micro, small or medium-sized enterprise (SME). If the lead organisation is not a business it must collaborate with two businesses (one SME, and one business of any size).
The deadline for applications is 22 February 2023 (11:00 GMT).
