Carlisle City Council is providing local businesses with free access to its local business support and grant portal provided by Open4Business. This is tailored for the Carlisle area and includes local, regional and national schemes.

Business can also search for funding relevant to their size and sector. To use the portal, you will first need to register with Open4Business.

Launch of Mobility Pathfinder Innovation Programme

Funding is available for businesses with ideas to reimagine how personal mobility options in the UK can better support a rapidly ageing population.

The Mobility Pathfinder Innovation Programme invites innovators to propose solutions that offer more accessible, affordable and sustainable personal mobility options for later life. Proposals that can be supported towards the market by investment in good design are sought.

Funding is intended to meet the pressing need for innovation and scalable approaches that can meet the increasing demand for personal mobility options that are safe, affordable, sustainable and desirable.

Funding of between £50,000 and £70,000 is available.

Businesses, organisations, entrepreneurs and start-ups based in and operating in the UK may apply. Applicants operating in all sectors, and from all backgrounds are welcome, regardless of a track record in business or entrepreneurship. 

Applicants must have an idea that has the potential to positively impact personal mobility for an ageing population at scale, and help to change the narrative on ageing.

The deadline for applications is 15 May 2023.
