Money Saving Expert (MSE) Charity Opens for First Round of 2022

Health & Social Welfare

01 February 2022/Categories: Grants_and_Funding

MSE Charity is currently accepting UK applications to its ‘Living with Long Term Challenges’ theme and will close as soon as 40 applications are accepted so groups should not wait to apply.

The Charity holds two funding rounds each year (February and September) with a different theme for each round.

The theme for the February 2022 grant round is ‘Living with Long Term Challenges’. Projects should focus on building financial capability skills and assisting groups who support dementia, autism, learning difficulties, disabilities, caring responsibilities, mental illness, brain injury and stroke.

All applications must demonstrate how the project they are seeking funding for has a lasting impact on the people taking part.

The maximum grant is £7,500. The applications most likely to be successful are those that ask for funding for a specific activity cost rather than a general contribution to running costs or a much larger project.

Small to medium-sized non-profit organisations with a constitution can apply. This includes UK registered charities, community interest companies, social enterprises and credit unions. To be eligible, applicants should have an annual income of less than £500,000 and have unrestricted reserves that are less than six months of their running costs.

Applicants are advised to apply early in the month as the round will be limited to the first 40 applications that are accepted or the deadline, whichever is soonest.

Applications will be accepted from 9am on 1 February 2022 until 5pm on 25 February 2022.

How To Apply

Applications are invited twice a year: in February and September. Each grant round is limited to the first 40 accepted applications.

The grant round, Living with Long Term Challenge opens at 9am on 1 February 2022 and closes at 5pm on 25 February 2022.

Applications will close once the number of accepted applications reaches 40 or by the deadline, whichever is soonest. If the grant round closes early, the application form will NOT be accessible to complete. Applicants are encouraged to apply early and not wait to the deadline.

A grant eligibility quiz, online application form, guidance notes and FAQs are available on the MSE Charity website. The application guidance document changes for each round and groups should make sure they have read it carefully before starting the application form.

Groups that wish to discuss their project should send an email to the Operations Manager.

Applications are only accepted electronically and only within the grant round dates.
