Grant funding is available to organisations and businesses in England to deliver species recovery projects.
The Species Recovery Programme Capital Grant Scheme is being launched by Natural England. The scheme will run over two financial years (2023/24 and 2024/25).
The funding is intended to support projects which enhance or create heritage assets to support wildlife habitats which benefit species recovery, and/or conservation translocations to target species that enhance habitats to enable them to function effectively.
Grants of between £50,000 and £500,000 are available. This capital funding can be used for a variety of activities including:
- Habitat enhancements
- Purchasing/installing new site infrastructure
- Conservation translocations
- Preliminary surveys
- Equipment
- Staff costs
- Research and development (R&D)
Partnerships, individual organisations and formally constituted businesses in England can apply. Collaborative projects from multiple organisations/partners are welcome.
Applications will open on 3 April 2023 for a period of six weeks.
