New Deadline Announced for Berkeley Foundation’s Resilience Fund

Health & Social Welfare

13 July 2022/Categories: Grants_and_Funding

Funding to strengthen capacity in organisations working with young people from Black and minoritised communities.

Launched in 2011 with the aim of supporting young people to develop and thrive, the Berkeley Foundation has announced its next round of funding. This time, there is a focus on organisations promoting mental health in young people from Black and minoritised communities.

Grants of up to £30,000 over two years are on offer, with around 10 awards expected each year.

Registered charities or Community Interest Companies (CICs) may apply, providing their annual income is between £100,000 and £1.5 million.

Work must take place in Greater London, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, Kent, Hampshire, West Sussex, Warwickshire or the City of Birmingham.

Groups will be given priority if they are:

  • Led by people from Black and minoritised communities (at least 70% of Trustees and 51% of senior staff).
  • Working with young people at key transition points in their lives (for example, leaving care or the justice system or the transition between high school and college).

Funding is to support organisations in building their resilience in order to support young people and their communities for many years to come. Therefore, grants can only be used for organisational development and not for programme delivery or frontline services.

The next deadline is 31 August 2022, for a decision by Christmas 2022.
