Groups can now apply for funding to deliver projects which create meaningful change to local food systems.
As part of its Food for the Planet project, registered charity Sustain is delivering small grants to support communities to campaign and advocate for food and climate justice in their local areas.
Grants of up to £5,000 are available to Sustainable Food Partnerships, local authorities and community or campaign groups based in the UK.
Eligible activities may include:
- Encouraging and celebrating climate-friendly food in public institutions and council settings.
- Growing more sustainable and healthy food, especially in urban fringes.
- Tackling unfair and unhelpful pricing and advertising of the most climate-damaging foods.
- Divesting from industrial agriculture.
There will be an introductory workshop on 14 March 2022 from 11am to 12pm for potential applicants who would like to discuss their projects in more detail.
The deadline to apply is 15 April 2022.
