PropTech Engagement Fund Opens New Funding Round

Funding available to local authorities in England to support the widespread adoption of digital citizen engagement tools and services within the planning process.

The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) is providing the PropTech Engagement Fund to support the widespread adoption of digital citizen engagement tools and services within the planning process.

Council-led funded projects will enable the Department to better understand the barriers to be overcome to allow local authorities to adopt these tools at scale.

The second funding round of the programme is now open to application.

Each of the funded Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) will procure and test a digital engagement tool or service to address one of the themes specified below. 

LPAs will be able to apply to run a digital engagement pilot for one of the five following themes:

  • Theme 1: Masterplanning
  • Theme 2: Council-Led Development
  • Theme 3: Estate Regeneration
  • Theme 4: Community Development
  • Theme 5: Wildcard.

Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) in England are eligible to apply.

Each project can bid for up to £125,000 of funding. Joint LPA projects can apply for up to £300,000 of funding.

The programme intends to fund up to 10 projects.

Expressions of Interest should be submitted by the deadline 25 January 2022.
