Open 4 Business Portal

Carlisle City Council is providing local businesses with free access to its local business support and grant portal provided by Open4Business. This is tailored for the Carlisle area and includes local, regional and national schemes.

Next Application Window for Community Gardens Award

Funding to support the creation or development of community horticultural projects in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

National Garden Scheme will soon be welcoming applications for the 2023 Community Gardens Award in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Applications will open on 17 October 2022 and close on 31 January 2023.

Improving Observation Capabilities of Biodiversity in UK Waters - New IUK Competition

Funding is available for innovation projects to enhance the assessment of the UK’s waters in relation to biodiversity.

Through this competition, Innovate UK (IUK) is funding innovation projects that can improve the observation capabilities of the UK’s waters. The aim is to achieve better assessment and evaluation of the status and risks to natural capital assets.

Applications can be made between 31 August 2022 and 5 October 2022 (11:00 BST).

Small Grants Available to Support Refugees in England

Funding to assist refugees with all aspects of settling and integrating in their new communities.

Grants of £500 to £5,000 are on offer to Christian churches and registered Christian charities operating in England.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until 9 December 2022.

Sustaining Spaces Fund Accepting Applications

Funding to support community spaces for trauma-experienced people and communities.

National Survivors User Network (NSUN) has announced a new fund which will enable the continuation of spaces designed for those of shared identity to come together and support one another’s wellbeing.

The deadline to apply is 5pm on 16 September 2022.

Health Improvement Fund open for Applications

A process to apply for charitable funds to totalling more than £80,000 for community projects is now in place.

Applications are invited for projects that will further partnership working or improve care for people or communities most impacted by health inequalities.

The funds are from legacy monies donated to community services prior to the merger of Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) with North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust.  CPFT pooled these funds and have worked in collaboration with Cumbria Community Foundation (CCF) with the aim of maximising the use of the funds and to support with future growth and development.

IUK Announces Farming Innovation Programme Round 2 Competitions

UK registered businesses and research organisations can apply for funding to carry out projects that benefit farmers, growers or foresters in England.

Administered by Innovate UK (IUK), the Farming Innovation Programme is funding ambitious research and development projects that will benefit England’s farmers, growers, foresters and other businesses. The aim is to boost productivity, enhance sustainable practices, improve environmental outcomes and reduce carbon emissions in England’s agricultural and horticultural sectors.

The deadline for applications is 12 October 2022 (11:00 BST).

Grants to Support Cultural Collaboration Between the UK and Germany

Funding will allow for the creation and strengthening of artistic partnerships between the two countries.

Cultural Bridge celebrates intercultural artistic exchange through the collaboration of UK arts councils and leading German cultural institutions.

Al Madad Foundation Announces Dates for Autumn 2022 Round

Registered charities will soon be able to apply for the Foundation’s next funding round. This call will focus on projects that specifically address innovative solutions to accessing formal education as well as employment-focused vocational training, answering specific needs and presenting realistic solutions for refugee and displaced children and youths.

The deadline to apply is 11pm (BST) on 4 October 2022.

Bursaries Available for Television Documentary Ideas by Women

Funding is available to develop talent-led documentary ideas by a woman or anyone who self-identifies as a woman in the UK.

Four bursaries of £10,000 are available in 2022. Successful applicants will be matched with a mentor to help them realise their ideas.

Applications must be submitted online by the deadline of 16 September 2022.

Funding is available to charitable and community organisations in England, Scotland and Wales to support projects that deliver benefits for local communities.

Funding to Empower Social Housing Residents in England

The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities is inviting bids from non-profit making organisations or partnerships in England with relevant expertise in the social housing sector and an understanding of the importance of resident empowerment.

Grants to Reduce Barriers to Driving for Disabled People

DCMS Inviting Applications for an Intermediary Grant Maker for £14m Funding Programme

Know Your Neighbourhood is a new government fund launching this year to support place-based interventions which increase regular volunteering opportunities and address chronic loneliness across England.

Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize Set to Open for 2023 Nominations

At US$2.5 million, the Hilton Humanitarian Prize is the world’s largest annual humanitarian award, recognising the achievements of charitable or non-profit organisations around the world.

Music Export Growth Scheme - New Round Open

Autumn Round of Rewilding Innovation Fund Open for Applications

Community groups, public, and private landowners in England, Scotland, and Wales can apply for funding to develop or scale-up rewilding projects on land or at sea.

Rewilding Britain is offering grants of up to £15,000 to help foster new and ambitious rewilding projects, or scale-up pre-existing projects, across Britain. The Rewilding Innovation Fund will support rewilding projects on land and at sea, at a scale of more than 40 hectares, that adhere to Rewilding Britain’s rewilding principles.  

The deadline for applications is 14 October 2022.

Defra Opens UK Seafood Fund: Skills and Training Scheme

The UK Seafood Fund: Skills and Training Scheme will provide a one-off fund to improve training in the seafood industry, including the catching, processing and aquaculture sectors.

The deadline for applications to access funding for training courses and specialist equipment is 12 October 2022 (12:00 BST).

Young Entrepreneurs Invited to Apply for 2022 Varsity Pitch Competition

Cultural Protection Fund Accepting Applications for Small Grants

Funding to support the protection of cultural heritage under threat in one or more of the Fund’s target countries.

Administered by the British Council on behalf of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), the Fund will support efforts to keep cultural heritage and objects safe as well as providing opportunities for local communities to value, care for and benefit from their cultural heritage.

Expressions of Interest are accepted on a rolling basis, before the application deadline of 31 October 2022.

Phase 2 of Youth Investment Fund Now Open for Applications

Funding to support the delivery of new and renewed youth facilities within a short timescale.

Applicants must be working with children and young people, where the majority are aged 11 to 19 years. Where young people have a special educational need, are leaving care, or are considered 'at risk' or vulnerable, funding may be granted up to the age of 25 years.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with Grant Committees expected to be held until March 2024.

September Deadline for PRS Foundation's Open Fund for Music Organisations

Techstars Launches Pre-Accelerator with Audi to Promote Innovation in Mobility

Community groups can be awarded up to £300 to host community events during Great Big Green Week (GBGW) 24th September – 2nd October 2022.

CAfS can provide up to £300 of funding for venue hire, publicity materials, speaker expenses, film hire, other activities and equipment.  Any surplus generated through donations should be retained by your group.

Building Safety Fund Opens to New Applications in England

Owners of high-rise buildings with unsafe cladding in England can now apply for funding to meet the costs of making their properties safe.

The Government originally announced the Building Safety Fund in the Budget on 11 March 2020, to fund the remediation of cladding on high-rise residential buildings over 17.7 metres tall in England.

The deadline for new applications is 1 January 2025.
