Talkin Tarn is located approximately 9 miles east of Carlisle and just a mile south off the A69 with ample parking. Follow the brown signs to Talkin Tarn Country Park from the roundabout at Brampton.

Talkin Tarn can also be reached by road and rail. There is a bus route that can drop visitors off close to the park entrance . Also after a short walk Talkin Tarn is also easily accessible from Brampton Junction Railway station.

Car Parking at Talkin Tarn Country Park

Talkin Tarn has a large surfaced car park with sufficient parking for 120 cars. There is a disabled parking area and a coach and motorcycle parking areas.

Talkin Tarn Car Parking Machines

Due to connectivity issues the card facility on the car parking machines is not working, visitors are encouraged to use the MiPermit service to pay to park – the MiPermit app is very useful and you can even pay in advance for your stay. Alternatively please continue to pay using cash until the connectivity issues are resolved. We do apologise for the inconvenience and we are working with the provider to resolve the connectivity issues.

Monday to Sunday (including Bank holidays & Public holidays) between 10am and 6pm	Cars – up to 1 hour £1.30
	Cars – over 1 hour £2.40
	Minibuses – up to 12 hours £4.70
	Coaches – up to 12 hours £5.90
ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP PARKING PERMIT	£60.00

Disabled Badge Holders may park for up to a maximum of 3 hours free of charge. A clock disc must be clearly displayed set at the time of arrival along with a valid Disabled Person’s Badge. There is no return to the car park within one hour. For stays of over 3 hours the normal hourly charges apply.

New Customers: Due to high demand Talkin Tarn permits are currently unavailable. If you wish to be added to the waiting list please contact MiPermit on 0345 520 7007.

Please note: Application forms sent via post accompanied with a cheque will no longer be processed and will be returned to sender.
