The Carlisle Countryside Volunteer Team are a group of enthusiastic volunteers who meet up every other Monday to carry out practical conservation tasks in the countryside sites around the city of Carlisle. They also work at Talkin Tarn once a month.
The team plays an important role in the conservation of the city's countryside sites, carrying out tasks such as hay meadow management, coppicing, footpath management, pond clearance and boardwalk construction.
All are welcome to join the group. It is a great chance to get to know new people, have fun, learn new skills and contribute towards the conservation of Carlisle's wildlife.
Carlisle City Council will provide you with all the tools and equipment you will need on the day as well as even teas and coffees! We just ask that you bring you own waterproof gear, steel toe cap boots or wellies a packed lunch and plenty of enthusiasm.
