Carlisle City Council and the North Pennines AONB Partnership have worked together through the Fellfoot Forward Landscape Partnership Scheme (LPS) to develop online education resources aimed at young people for schools, youth groups and families, to use independently.
Fellfoot Forward LPS is a major project to conserve, enhance and celebrate the natural and cultural heritage of a special part of the North West of England. As part of the scheme OASES (Outdoor and Sustainability Education Specialists) have created six resources to support teachers and outdoor educators to plan and conduct self-guided visits to Talkin Tarn Country Park. These resources are themed around subjects from art, maths and geology to wildlife, history, literature and wonderful water, ensuring strong links to the curriculum throughout and offering therapeutic, sustainable and adaptable learning in the outdoors. Although primarily aimed at key stage 2 children, the resources can be adapted for any age group and are perfect for families looking for fun activities to do together.
