National Allotment Gardens Trust Accepting Applications for 1 April Deadline

Funding for registered allotment associations and committees for the improvement and development of facilities on registered and permitted sites.

The National Allotment Gardens Trust, a registered charity, has a small amount of funding that it provides each year for allotment and garden projects.

The next deadline for applications is 1 April 2023.

Turing Scheme Opens for Applications for Third Year

Schools, colleges and universities in the UK have until 6 April to apply for funding to provide their students with an opportunity to study and work abroad starting in September.

Announced in December 2020, the Turing Scheme is a competitive grant funding scheme. It provides grants to organisations to fund individuals undertaking education and training in the UK, to go on study or work placements across the world.

The deadline for applications is 6 April 2023 (4pm).

£150m Community Ownership Fund

The £150 million Community Ownership Fund is for communities across the United Kingdom. It has been set up to help communities take ownership of assets at risk of closure. It will run for 4 years until 2024/25. Voluntary and community organisations can bid for match funding. Funding may support the purchase and/or renovation costs of community assets.

Proposals will need to prove the value of the asset to local people and that the asset can run sustainably for the long-term benefit of the community. 

Barclays Community Football Fund 2023 Invites Applications

Grants are available for not-for-profit groups in the UK to help improve access to football for all by running football activities for underrepresented groups. This is only open to new groups who have not already received a grant through this fund.

Now in its second year, Barclays Bank in partnership with the Sported Foundation is offering small grants of £500 to groups that are running football activities for one or more of the following underrepresented groups: women and girls, young people with disabilities, young people from racially diverse communities, young people from the LGBTQ+ community and young people from lower socio-economic groups.

The fund is currently open until 31 December 2023. However, it may close earlier if a large volume of applications is received.

KFC Foundation Community Grants Programme Reopens for Applications for 2023

Funding is available for charities and grassroots community groups and associations to support young people aged 11-25 years in communities where KFC restaurants are located.

Grants of up to £2,500 are available for charities, community interest companies and clubs or associations with an annual turnover of less than £300,000 to support projects that help young people create firm foundations by addressing their needs through early intervention, and empowering young people to fulfil their potential through the provision of safe social spaces, mentoring, work, and social skills development. 

The deadline to submit an expression of interest is 13 March 2023. 

Launch of IUK’s Feasibility Studies in Quantum Computing Applications Competition

UK registered businesses can apply for grants to fund innovative solutions to industrial problems using Quantum Computing.

Through this competition, Innovate UK (IUK) is funding innovative solutions to industrial problems using quantum computing (QC). The aim is to bring together end-users from many industry sectors, with experts in QC. They will identify and develop use cases in the UK that demonstrate the potential and commercial benefits of this technology.

The deadline for applications is 29 March 2023 (11:00 BST).

National Citizens Service Launches 2023 Grants Programme

Funding for not-for-profit organisations delivering community-based experiences at a grassroots level for young people (16- to 17-year-olds) in England.

Starting this year, National Citizens Service Trust (NCST) has announced it will be awarding two different types of grants to local organisations delivering community-based experiences at a grassroots level, for the first time.

Applications will be accepted from 13 February 2023 (11am) until they close on 20 March 2023 (9am).

Net Zero Heat: Rapid Assessment of Building Fabric Performance - New IUK Competition

UK registered organisations can apply for grants to fund solutions that reduce the cost and time required for assessing fabric performance of buildings against net zero performance targets.

The aim of this Innovate UK (IUK) competition is to accelerate the shift to a net zero economy. The focus is on reducing the cost and time required for assessing the fabric performance of buildings and assuring net zero performance targets are achieved.

The deadline for applications is 22 March 2023 (11:00 GMT).

Third Round of Peatland Restoration Grants Set for Spring Launch

Ahead of a new funding round, environmental groups, charities, public bodies, and landowners in England can read guidance to support their bids for grants to develop sites where peat can be restored.

The Nature for Climate Peatland Grant Scheme (NCPGS) has been set up to support the restoration of degraded peatland in England.

Subject to confirmation, Defra expects to open the third round of Restoration Grant applications in April 2023, for eight weeks.

Round 3 of Local Authority Treescapes Fund Opens to Applications

Funding available to local authorities in England to increase tree planting and natural regeneration in local communities.

The Local Authority Treescapes Fund (LATF) provides funding for the establishment of trees in non-woodland settings. These may include parks, riparian zones, copses and shelterbelts, as well as green lanes, small linear woodlands alongside roads and footpaths, and vacant and disused community spaces.

Round three applications may be submitted until 30 June 2023.

Fifth Round of England's Urban Tree Challenge Fund Now Open

Funding is available for planting trees in urban areas, helping to support people’s health and wellbeing, as well as wider environmental benefits.

The Urban Tree Challenge Fund (UTCF) was first developed in response to the Government’s commitment to provide millions of pounds for planting trees in and around England’s towns and cities.

Round 5 is open for applications. Those wishing to plant trees in 2023/24 must submit their applications by 30 June 2023 (23:59 BST).

 

Launch of £32m Heat Network Efficiency Scheme for England and Wales

Grants are available for organisations operating across the public, private and third sectors in England and Wales for upgrading existing heat networks to reduce emissions and energy costs.

The Heat Network Efficiency Scheme (HNES) provides funding to support improvements to existing district heating or communal heating projects that are operating sub-optimally and resulting in poor outcomes for customers and operators.

The scheme will run multiple funding rounds, which will take place approximately bi-monthly. The deadline for Round 1 is 31 March 2023.

Windrush Day Grant Scheme – Deadline Reminder

Funding to celebrate, commemorate and/or educate about the history of the MV Empire Windrush and the contribution of the Windrush Generation to life in Britain.

Groups have around two weeks left to apply to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC)’s Windrush Day Grant Scheme.

The deadline to apply is 22 February 2023.

£200m Funding Boost to Improve Walking and Cycling Routes

A new £200 million fund has been announced by the government to improve crossings and junctions to support walking and cycling, and therefore reduce emissions and boost local economies.

The successful projects will be announced later this year.

IUK Launches Zero Emission Vessel and Infrastructure Competitions for UK Maritime Sector

The Zero Emission Vessel and Infrastructure (ZEVI) Competitions aim to transform the UK into a global leader in the design and manufacturing of clean maritime technologies.

The deadline for applications is 19 April 2023 (11:00 BST).

Suez Communities Fund Reopens for Applications in England

Not-for-profit organisations across England can apply for funding to deliver capital and public amenity improvement projects in communities within a Communities Trust funding zone.

Suez Communities Trust is offering grants of between £3,000 and £50,000 for not-for-profit groups to deliver projects that make physical improvements to community facilities, or repair buildings of religious worship or buildings of architectural or historic interest.

The next deadline for applications is 22 February 2023.

Cost of Living Support Available for Youth Organisations across the UK

Charitable and not-for-profit youth organisations delivering high-quality youth provision whose work is being hindered, curtailed, or cut back due to rising core costs can apply for funding to address these unprecedented demands.

UK Youth, in partnership with Pears Foundation, is offering unrestricted multi-year grants for charitable and not-for-profit youth organisations across the UK with an annual turnover of less than £500,000 to help them cover rising prices and increased costs due to the cost-of-living crisis.

Energy Catalyst - IUK Announces Round 10 Competitions

Funding is available for businesses and research organisations, from anywhere in the world, to create new or improved clean energy access in sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia or the Indo-Pacific regions.

Innovate UK (IUK) has announced a call for applications to Round 10 of its Energy Catalyst Competitions. The objective of these competitions is to accelerate the innovations needed to create new or improved clean energy access in sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia or Indo-Pacific regions.

All three competition strands open on 27 February 2023. The deadline for applications is 28 June 2023 (11:00 BST).

Hydrogen Storage and Distribution Supply Chain - New IUK R&D Competition Announced

Forming part of the Future Economy Net Zero Programme, this Innovate UK (IUK) competition will focus on the development of the hydrogen economy. The aim is to develop new ways of delivering integrated hydrogen storage and distribution systems and the associated supply chains.

Asda Foundation’s Investing in Spaces and Places Grants Programme Opens 6 February

IUK Announces Safety Tech Challenge to Disrupt Sharing of Child Sexual Abuse Material

Austin and Hope Pilkington Trust Opens for First Round of the Year

IUK Launches Engineering Biology Collaborative Research and Development Competition

QuantERA ERA-NET Cofund in Quantum Technologies Launches 2023 Call

Co-op Foundation’s Carbon Innovation Fund – New Focus for Round 2

Government Plans to Expedite Rollout of Sustainable Farming Incentive

The aim of this Innovate UK (IUK) competition is to support UK and German business-led collaboration in innovation. The competition opens on Tuesday 7 February 2023. The deadline for applications is Wednesday 7 June 2023 (11:00 BST).

Ofwat Launches £4m Water Discovery Challenge

Ofwat’s new Water Discovery Challenge is a £4 million competition for innovations that can help solve the biggest challenges facing the water sector; today and in the future. 2023 Dates for Veterans’ Foundation Applications

Dyers’ Company Launches Seed Capital Investment Fund

Sea-Changer’s Coastal Fountain Fund Reopens for 2023

Sea Changers is offering grants of up to £2500 for community groups and other not-for-profit organisations to help prevent negative impacts on UK coastal and marine environments and species by reducing marine litter through the provision of well-located coastal water fountains that will significantly reduce the use of non-reusable plastic drinks bottles.

Grants to Mark the 75th Anniversary of Windrush

Google Global Goals Call for Applications for AI-based Solutions to Societal Challenges
