UK registered organisations can apply for grants for feasibility studies with projects to propose, deliver and demonstrate innovation in railway construction.

Through this competition, Innovate UK (IUK) is investing in projects to propose, deliver and demonstrate innovation in railway construction. The aim is to support initial feasibility studies outlining how applicants would deliver a demonstration of innovation in railway construction to the Global Centre of Rail Excellence (GCRE) site facility.

The deadline to apply is 14 December 2022.

€1m Global Change Award Addresses Fashion Industry's Environmental Impact

Applications Open for Community Gardens Award

Funding to support the development and expansion of gardening projects carried out by local communities.

Delivered by the National Garden Scheme, the Community Gardens Award provides grants of £500 to £5,000 for the creation of a garden or a similar project (such as an allotment) with horticultural focus for the benefit of the local community.

New Round of Funding for Entrepreneurs Setting up Rural Firms

Funding is being offered to help entrepreneurs start new businesses in rural areas of the UK.

Forest Holidays has once again partnered with the Prince’s Countryside Fund to launch a new round of the Rural Start-Up Fund. The aim is to support new business ventures in rural areas of the UK. The scheme is intended to help entrepreneurs overcome the challenges associated with setting up and working rurally.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 9 November 2022 (12:00 GMT).

Condition Improvement Fund 2023-24 Opens to Applications

Capital funding is available for academies, sixth-form colleges and non-diocesan voluntary aided (VA) schools in England to transform facilities, improve school buildings and create more good school places.

The Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) is provided by the Department for Education. The funding is intended to improve school buildings and expand academies and sixth-form colleges rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted.

The deadline for applications is 7 December 2022 (12 noon).

Launch of £20m Green Home Finance Accelerator

The Government has launched a new fund to boost the choice of affordable green finance products for homeowners to help them reduce energy consumption.

The Green Home Finance Accelerator will provide grant funding to support UK finance providers and other organisations to design, develop and pilot a diverse range of innovative finance propositions which encourage domestic energy efficiency and low carbon heating retrofit.

The competition is open for Discovery Phase applications until 14 December 2022.

Following the success of the Business Growth Grant pilot scheme, we have approved a new round of grant funding to support Small-and Medium Enterprises (SME) looking to occupy vacant properties within the City Centre.

This grant fund will provide up to £2,500 (£5,000 for particularly strong cases) for businesses occupying vacant space in Carlisle City Centre. The award of the grant is subject to an appraisal process.

eBay UK Launches Circular Fashion Innovators Fund

eBay UK has announced a partnership with the British Fashion Council to launch the Circular Fashion Innovators Fund, supporting small businesses specialising in circular fashion solutions.

Government Launches LRF Innovation Fund to Support Data and Digital Technology

England’s Local Resilience Forums (LRFs) can apply now for funding to support projects that embrace future digital trends, and utilise data, technologies, and equipment to improve their ability to prevent, prepare, respond and recover from emergencies.

The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) is inviting the 38 Local Resilience Forums (LRFs) based in England to submit an expression to the new LRF Innovation Fund.

Expressions of Interest are currently being accepted with a closing date of 11 November 2022.

Launch of the UK Energy Markets Financing Scheme

The Government has launched a new scheme to address the liquidity requirements faced by energy firms operating in the UK’s wholesale gas and electricity markets. The Energy Markets Financing Scheme provides resilience to firms, and the economy, reducing the eventual cost for businesses and consumers.

The deadline for applications is 27 January 2023.

NatWest Partners with Black Seed to Support UK Black Entrepreneurs

NatWest Bank and Black Seed, a venture capital seed fund dedicated to Black founders in the UK, are working together to support over 10,000 Black entrepreneurs to ‘fast-track’ their businesses.

Round 6 of Local Digital Fund Opens to Bids from England’s Councils

The Local Digital Fund aims to help England’s councils transform their digital services in line with the Local Digital Declaration.

New Fund Offers Grants to Improve On-the-Go Recycling Points in Great Britain

The Green Alley Award is a start-up competition focused on the green economy, dealing specifically with the challenges of the throwaway society, the scarcity of resources and the recovery of raw materials. It is targeted at 'green' entrepreneurs from across Europe with business ideas for the circular economy and new ways of improving waste and recycling industries.

Zero Emission Propulsion - IUK Announces New Collaborative R&D Competition

Forming part of the Future Economy Net Zero programme, this Innovate UK (IUK) competition will focus on net zero propulsion technologies for the transport sector. It supports the Government’s drive for zero emission transport and systems as part of the net zero commitment for 2050.

Applications are accepted from 17 October 2022 until 7 December 2022.

Deadline approaching for Electrical Safety Fund

Charities, community safety organisations, and other not-for-profit organisations across the United Kingdom have until 23 October to apply for funding to support electrical safety projects and activities.

In response to the cost-of-living crisis and the likelihood of electricity safety being compromised by financial issues, Electrical Safety First is offering grants of up £5,000 for fire and rescue services, community safety groups, trading standards authorities, and other not-for-profit organisations across the UK to deliver projects addressing electrical safety.

LGBT+ Consortium Seeking Applications from Small Groups

Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme Opens New Phase

A new phase of funding for public sector bodies to fund energy efficiency and heat decarbonisation measures will open to applications on 12 October.

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) launched the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme to provide grants to public sector bodies to fund energy efficiency and heat decarbonisation measures.

Phase 3b will open to applications on 12 October 2022 at 2pm. The deadline for applications will be the 31 October 2022.

Newcastle Building Society Community Fund

#iwill Fund Offering Next Round of Youth Social Action Grants

England’s Local Authorities Invited to Apply for New Phase of Home Upgrade Grants

Wave 2 of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund for England Now Open

Local authorities, combined authorities and registered providers of social housing can now apply for funding to improve the energy performance of their social homes.

The Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) has been established to upgrade a significant amount of the social housing stock currently below Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) C up to that standard.

The Wave 2.1 competition has now been launched. It closes on 18 November 2022. The submission of applications will open at least five working days before the close of the competition. The Government will confirm details of the submission process in October 2022.

Bursaries for Hospice Staff Across England and Wales

Cycling UK is offering grants of up to £3,000 for voluntary, community, and not-for-profit organisations across England to deliver cycling events for beginners, people returning to cycling after a period of inactivity, and other people who do not cycle regularly or are experiencing challenges and perceived barriers to access.
