Open 4 Business Portal

Carlisle City Council is providing local businesses with free access to its local business support and grant portal provided by Open4Business. This is tailored for the Carlisle area and includes local, regional and national schemes.

Business can also search for funding relevant to their size and sector. To use the portal, you will first need to register with Open4Business.

Sport England to Pause Applications for a Month from 25 August 2022

The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Activity Fund and Active Together (Sport England’s crowdfunding initiative) will be paused from 25 August until late September 2022.

The temporary deadline to submit applications is 24 August 2022 with the expectation that applications can be submitted again from the end of September 2022.

Continuo Foundation Offering Support for Period Music Ensembles Across the UK

Grants of between £2,000 and £10,000 are available for professional ensembles playing period music and instruments to mobilise projects of outstanding artistic merit and create meaningful work for freelance period musicians, whilst engaging a wide range of audiences with historically informed live performances.

The deadline for applications is 15 August 2022. 

New Deadline Announced for Berkeley Foundation’s Resilience Fund

Launched in 2011 with the aim of supporting young people to develop and thrive, the Berkeley Foundation has announced its next round of funding. This time, there is a focus on organisations promoting mental health in young people from Black and minoritised communities.

The next deadline is 31 August 2022, for a decision by Christmas 2022.

Funding available to support local authority partnerships in England to help unlock surplus land and property.

One Public Estate (OPE) is a partnership between the Office of Government Property (OGP) in the Cabinet Office (CO), the Local Government Association (LGA) and the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC).

The deadline for applications is 19 August 2022.

#iwill Fund Receives £12m Investment Boost

The additional funding will contribute to the provision of social action opportunities for young people across England.

The National Lottery Community Fund and Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) have each announced an additional £6 million of funding into their partnership programme, the #iwill Fund, taking its total investment to £66 million.

Innovate UK Launches New Design Foundations Competition

Through the Design Foundations Competition, Innovate UK aims to help businesses develop new ideas that will deliver benefits for people and the planet, aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. These can be for new or significantly improved products, services, places or business models.

Funding for research projects to improve understanding of the consumer harms experienced by diverse and disadvantaged communities in the UK and to develop evidence-based solutions to tackle these harms.

Sustainable Farming Incentive for England Opens to Applications

Farmers across England can now apply for grants for projects focusing on biodiversity, cleaner water, cleaner air, improving soil, and carbon reduction on their land.

Applications will remain open, so interested parties can apply at a time that works best for them. If it is necessary to close applications, this date will be publicised, giving applicants six weeks' notice.

Movement for Good Awards Accepting Nominations for September Draw
