Carlisle City Council has been selected as one of 28 towns and cities in England to participate in the BEIS Heat Network Zoning (HNZ) Pilot Programme. Overseen and funded by BEIS, the programme will seek to test a methodology and HNZ model that will be used in the identification of zones, ensuring the outputs are relevant to stakeholders and the local areas. BEIS appointed consultants -Arcadis and Over Morgen are working with Carlisle City Council and relevant stakeholders to collate key information to inform the model. The pilot programme will inform the development of any national methodology that is introduced in the future. More information about the HNZ pilot programme can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/heat-networks-zoning-pilot
