CALL FOR SITES: 21 MARCH - 25 APRIL 2022 - NOW CLOSED

Carlisle City Council ran a Call for Sites inviting submissions for potential new development sites across the district in Spring 2022.

As part of the Call for Sites we were seeking land that could have the potential for new housing, employment, community uses, or gypsy and traveller accommodation. We also welcomed submissions of sites that could have the potential for new habitat creation, that could help generate environmental net gain for the district.

People wishing to submit a site, were required to supply following information:

  • A map with a red line clearly showing the boundary and location of the site you wish to submit
  • A completed version of the form with all relevant questions answered where possible

We produced a form to help collect the information we need to assess your site’s potential for development. People were asked to answer the questions as fully as they could. If we can’t be sure that a site is suitable, available and achievable for development it is unlikely that we will be able to consider it further. If you are unable to supply a clear location plan we will not be able to take the site into consideration. The form can be downloaded below (for information purposes).

The Call for Sites is now closed and we are not currently accepting new submissions. The next stage will be to assess sites received for their development potential as part of the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA).
