Kennel Club Charitable Trust - Emergency Relief Initiative

| Return|

Financial support for community-based canine organisations which require emergency funds in order to prevent the unnecessary suffering of dogs such as providing additional support for small to medium sized rescue centres.

Background

The Kennel Club Charitable Trust, founded in 1987, is a dog charity that looks after the health and welfare of all dogs.

The trust funds a wide variety of work ranging from research into canine diseases, dog welfare organisations and the promotion of support dogs, all of which give dogs a healthier, happier life. To date, it has donated more than £10 million to support these initiatives.

Objectives of Fund

The Kennel Club, the Kennel Club Charitable Trust (KCCT) and the Kennel Club Educational Trust (KCET) are providing funding to support canine organisations in their communities which may be suffering genuine financial hardship as a result of the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic.

Value Notes

Loans or grants will be provided. The level of funding has not been provided.

Who Can Apply

Clubs, societies and other canine organisations working in the local community and who find themselves without adequate reserves or in significant financial hardship may apply.

Location

England and Wales

Eligible Expenditure

The funding is intended to be used in the following circumstances:

  • Where the cancellation of a club show may have a further direct adverse effect on the annual provision of services to club members and others (e.g. support for rehoming, educational events).

  • The Kennel Club Charitable Trust has agreed to help support those community-based canine organisations which require emergency funds in order to prevent the unnecessary suffering of dogs such as providing additional support for small to medium sized rescue centres.

  • The Kennel Club Educational Trust will look to support those associated with the Kennel Club offering dog training services which may have been affected by the negative consequences for dogs, due to coronavirus/COVID-19.

How To Apply

The deadline for applications is 30 April 2020.

The application form is available on the Kennel Club website
