Arts Council England COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund for NPOs and Lead CPP Organisations

| Return|

£90 million available to National Portfolio Organisations (NPOs) and Creative People and Places (CPPs) lead organisations who are most in need by making emergency grants available to help them survive until the end of September 2020.

Fund Information

Funding body:

Arts Council England

Maximum value:

Discretionary

Application deadline:

19/05/2020

Background

This is one of three emergency response funds Arts Council England (ACE) are launching. This funding has come from reallocation of National Lottery Project Grants, Developing your Creative Practice and Development Funds, for the 2020-21 period, and uses up almost all of their reserves.

Objectives of Fund

The main focus for this fund is to help NPOs and CPPs that are facing difficulties in meeting basic costs because of the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on earned and other income.

The aim of this funding is to help ensure organisations can sustain their operations until the end of September.

Value Notes

A total of £90 million is available through this fund.

There is no upper limit for applications, but organisations should only apply for the minimum they need to survive until 30 September 2020.

Who Can Apply

National Portfolio Organisations (including Sector Support Organisations and organisations that have withdrawn from the current National Portfolio and are being funded through another mechanism) and Creative People and Places programme lead organisations on behalf of the CPP consortium are eligible to apply.

Location

England

Restrictions

The fund cannot be used to cover additional creative activity or costs and losses not incurred as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.

ACE will not:

  • Consider applications that include any costs related to debt that was incurred before 1 March 2020 (referred to as historic debt in the guidance for applicants) unless specifically related to COVID-19.

  • Accept applications from organisations that are in administration, going through an insolvency process or that have been dissolved.

Eligible Expenditure

This funding is intended to complement other funding and support available to organisations, rather than duplicate it. Organisations should only apply for funding if they cannot access support for those costs elsewhere.

Funding can be used to support the costs of NPOs and CPPs continuing to operate on an emergency basis (such as digital costs required to transfer business online and associated accessibility costs), as well as the cost of any additional IT and other equipment or related costs to support home working while your organisation is closed.

It can also support additional costs associated with the COVID-19 emergency, including, but not limited to:

  • Additional cleaning costs

  • Additional security

  • The cost of mothballing buildings.

How To Apply

The fund will open to applications on 12 May 2020 (12pm midday) with a deadline for submissions of 19 May 2020 (12pm midday).

Applicants will need to register for Grantium before submitting an online application form.

ACE have created a Word document version of the application (which can be found on the fund website) to give applicants the chance to draft their application offline before they enter it into Grantium. The Word document will not be accepted as an application form.

Decisions on successful applications will be made by 30 June 2020.
