Open 4 Business Portal

Carlisle City Council is providing local businesses with free access to its local business support and grant portal provided by Open4Business. This is tailored for the Carlisle area and includes local, regional and national schemes.

Business can also search for funding relevant to their size and sector. To use the portal, you will first need to register with Open4Business.

Funding News

 

 

£10,000 Match Funding
Crowdfunder and Sport England have teamed up to make £1 million of match funding available to help the sport and physical activity sector through the ongoing coronavirus crisis. Find more here.

 

 

 

Many clubs, groups and other leisure businesses will be entitled to Business Grants from the Government including some charities and community amateur sports clubs.

 

If you're not eligible for a grant, you may be able to claim a discretionary grant from your local authority. Find out more below.

 

 

 

Covid Relief Funds & Support

Swimathon Foundation Covid-19 Relief Fund - the fund has been established to offer grant funding for small organisations working in the swimming and aquatic community in the UK.The Fund will help small swimming and aquatics organisations meet their obligations during this difficult period. Grants between £250 and £1000 are available. The application window is between Mon 4th May and Fri 22nd May.

LTA Covid-19 support package -  In early April LTA announced their multi-million pound support package, designed to ensure clubs and venues remain viable and players, coaches and officials are not lost to our sport. The LTA know that many involved in tennis in Britain are concerned about their futures and are facing significant challenges. Support for venues, coaches, officials and performance is available.

Big Society Capital - has announced,  an "ambitious £100 million programme of loans and investments" which aims to get emergency funding into charities, social enterprises and small businesses in disadvantaged areas during the pandemic.

Standard Life Foundation - have announced that they will be making funding available for work directly related to the pandemic, addressing specific challenges and helping to contribute to social change which tackles financial problems and improves living standards for those on low-to-middle incomes in the UK

Coalfields COVID-19 Recovery & Resilience Fund - the trustees had allowed changes to funding support due to the COVID-19 crisis. Grants of up to £10,000 are still available but committee meetings will be held on a more regular basis. Priority will be given to organisations that are delivering support services or have significantly adapted their services  in order to respond to the current crisis and support vulnerable people.

Alpkit Foundation Grassroots Support now - the foundation has had a temporary shift in focus and are now prioritising support projects that demonstrate an immediate impact on those affected by the Covid-19 virus crisis.

ECB Emergency Support programmes - Cricket clubs and leagues are now able to apply to three new funding schemes specifically designed to help see them through the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The Emergency Loan scheme, Return to Cricket Grant Scheme as well as the new League Emergency Loan Scheme.

Football Foundation Pitch Preparation Fund -  The fund provides almost £10 million of financial support to those struggling to maintain their football pitches across the country. This is a direct response to a need across the game, providing grants to clubs that have lost out on normal revenue streams during this difficult period and helping them to prepare their pitches after challenging winter weather conditions. The application window is open until Monday May 25th.

 

National Funds

Cadent Foundation - Over the next 5 years the Cadent Foundation will be awarding £20+ million of grants to charities and community groups to support projects that make a real difference. Charities and community groups can apply for individual grants of between £100 and £100,000. They want to support projects that help alleviate suffering and hardship of people in vulnerable situations under three headings - Environment, Communities and Research & Innovation

Lloyds TSB Foundation - The Foundation funds local, regional and national charities working to tackle disadvantage across England and Wales. Seventy percent of our funding is for core costs, and our focus is on supporting underfunded charities that can make a significant difference to the lives of disadvantaged people by helping them to play a fuller role in the community. Our strong local presence enables us to respond directly and promptly to local needs.

Places to Ride - This funding is available to any organisation that is developing cycling activity in their community and can be used for anything from equipment packages to activate your local space, through to a brand new cycling facility. The programme is open until January 2021 and has both small scale (£1k-£50k) and large scale grants (£50k-£500k) available as well as equipment packages.

Persimmon Building Futures - As part of its sponsorship of Team GB, Persimmon will donate more than £1 million to support children in sport, health and education. Local groups which support under 18's can apply remotely. The top prize is £100k.

Persimmon Community Champions - Funding from Persimmon’s Community Champions initiative goes directly to groupscurrently focusing on supporting the over 70's. It’s really simple to apply for a donation by completing the online form.

Tesco Community Grants - Tesco community grants fund thousands of local projects right across the UK. Projects that bring benefit to their community will get the green light. Grants up to £2000 are available.

Wilkinsons - Every Wilkinson store has a small budget to help their local community to do great things. They want their donations to improve the lives of as many local people as possible and can make a big difference to lots of good causes.
