COVID-19 Response Grants

| Return|

Grants are available for voluntary organisations that are working in the criminal justice system in England and Wales to support their vital work during coronavirus/COVID-19.

Background

Clinks, on behalf of Her Majesty's Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) and the Ministry of Justice, invites applications from voluntary organisations for grants to support the sector’s work during the coronavirus/COVID-19 crisis. The funding is from the HMPPS Innovation Grants Programme. Clinks are managing this programme on behalf of MOJ/HMPPS, and all grant agreements will be held between Clinks and the funded organisation.

Objectives of Fund

The funding is for organisations already providing, or have a track record of providing, services in the criminal justice system. This funding will assist delivery of support where needs are not being met by current services, in particular with relation to needs created by the Covid-19 crisis. Organisations do not need to be in receipt of an HMPPS grant or a contract to provide services but should already have an existing relationship with HMPPS services to feasibly deliver services in the current circumstances.

Value Notes

A total of £275,000 is being made available.

Grants will range from £3,000 to £5,000. There is no minimum grant.

No organisation will be granted more than £20,000.

All funding must be spent by 30 November 2020.

  • With an up-to-date listing on Clinks’ Directory of Offender Services for the activities supported under the programme.

  • That agree to assess the benefits of the grant to their beneficiaries and submit a short report at the end of the programme.

Organisations are also welcome to apply if they have previously offered support to HMPPS through the sector support mobilisation process to adapt their service or deliver more support during the pandemic, whether they have been accepted, declined or are currently being considered.
