Open 4 Business Portal

To support our businesses during the current COVID-19 crisis, and into the recovery phase, Carlisle City Council is providing free access to Open 4 Business. Open4Business is designed to support businesses locate relevant up to date funding opportunities.

The portal is updated regularly with new local, regional and national funding announcements and can be easily searched by businesses on the basis of their industry, region and business size. The portal then provides information on how to apply for funding and contact funders directly. To search for grants for your business you will first need to register on the Open4Business website

Background

The Black Artists Grant is funded by Creative Debuts and is given out monthly to a black artist in the UK.

This grant has been set up because black artists are systematically under-supported by the art world; by institutions, curators, the artist-led scene, major and minor funding bodies, the market, art schools and by audiences too.

Objectives of Fund

The aim of the grant is to provide black artists with a 'no-strings attached' financial award to use in whatever way they choose.

Who Can Apply

Recipients must be a black artist in the UK.

There is no age limit.

UK.

Eligible Expenditure

The grant can be used for any purpose eg make new work, buy equipment or material, travel, research, visit exhibitions/conferences or even to cover life expenses.

How To Apply

Creative Debuts have appointment a selector, ROOT-ed Zine, who will do research to find artists who could benefit from the money. This selector will change every few months. Artists can also put themselves forward by sending an email with their contact details and some images of their work to [email protected]
