Open 4 Business Portal

To support our businesses during the current COVID-19 crisis, and into the recovery phase, Carlisle City Council is providing free access to Open 4 Business. Open4Business is designed to support businesses locate relevant up to date funding opportunities.

The portal is updated regularly with new local, regional and national funding announcements and can be easily searched by businesses on the basis of their industry, region and business size. The portal then provides information on how to apply for funding and contact funders directly. To search for grants for your business you will first need to register on the Open4Business website

Background

This is a programme run by Enterprise Nation in partnership with Amazon.

Objectives of Fund

The Amazon Small Business Accelerator is a support package for more than 200,000 small businesses and start-ups across the UK. This free, online educational programme is for anyone who wants to start a new online business or grow an existing one.

The online learning is tailored to an applicant’s experience level, with a curriculum covering website building, selling online, social media, marketing, managing cashflow, selling on Amazon, and identifying growth opportunities.

Value Notes

Not only is the training free, but by taking part, applicants can access events and offers from partners, and join an intensive bootcamp experience. The programme focuses on:

  • Diagnostic - Take the business diagnostic to find the support best tailored to experience level and needs.

  • Online learning - Access e-learning with a range of business modules.

  • Bootcamps - Apply to take part in a week-long intensive training and access support to start trading online quickly.

The Accelerator will include three e-learning paths with dedicated online training modules developed by subject matter experts and Enterprise Nation partners.

  1. Start is designed for people at the beginning of their business journey, covering the basics from how to register a company, to how to build a website and reach customers. 

  2. Grow is aimed at existing start-ups and small businesses that are looking for the best tools to help them grow. 

  3. Turbo is created for more established businesses who want to understand the best way to supercharge their growth and take their business to the next level.

This programme is open for businesses at all stages that are based in or setting up in the UK.
