Open 4 Business Portal

To support our businesses during the current COVID-19 crisis, and into the recovery phase, Carlisle City Council is providing free access to Open 4 Business. Open4Business is designed to support businesses locate relevant up to date funding opportunities.

The portal is updated regularly with new local, regional and national funding announcements and can be easily searched by businesses on the basis of their industry, region and business size. The portal then provides information on how to apply for funding and contact funders directly. To search for grants for your business you will first need to register on the Open4Business website


Grants and Funding News

The Unlimited Arts Programme

An arts commissioning programme that enables new work by emerging disabled artists to reach UK and international audiences.

Objectives of Fund

The aim of the programme is to commission disabled artists and companies in the UK to make exceptional work.

Value Notes

Main Commission Awards range between £20,000 and £80,000.

Research and Development Awards range between £5,000 and £10,000.

Emerging Artists Awards range between £2,500 and £10,000.

Match Funding Restrictions

For Main commission awards and Research and Development awards applicants will be expected to have a minimum of 10% match funding from other sources (which can be cash or in kind).

Match funding is not required for Emerging artists awards.

Who Can Apply

Funding is available for professionally established disabled artists and companies that support disabled-led work across all artforms and who are based in England, Wales and Scotland.

Eligible Expenditure

Costs associated with eligible projects.

How To Apply

The fund opens on 1 October 2020 and applicants should submit an Expression of Interest via the application portal by the deadline of 27 October 2020 (12:00). Shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit a full application.
