Funding to Improve Life on UK Armed Forces Bases and Stations

| Return|

The Navy, Army and Air Forces Institutes (NAAFI) are providing the funding which is being administered by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust. The Fund will run for at least 10 years. There will be one funding round this year and thereafter two rounds per year.

This year, Armed Forces bases and stations can apply for grants of between £5,000 and £20,000 to support projects that will develop better spaces for recreation, leisure or for serving personnel to relax in while off duty.

There is particular interest in applications in this first funding round for projects or activities that help to bring people together on military establishments and help reduce boredom or isolation. Projects should enhance welfare and improve quality of life.

The grants can be used to refurbish spaces, purchase equipment, and for staff costs and fees. Applicants need to show how an activity would be sustained at the end of the grant period if there is an ongoing need.

The beneficiaries of the funding must be serving members of HM Armed Forces, or their families, living on or near a base or station.

Although charities and other organisations cannot apply for this programme, an Armed Forces base could choose to work with a charity or other local organisation as part of their project.

The first step is to submit a short summary of 50 words or less. Ideas that broadly fit with the Fund programme will be given a unique code and link to the online application form. Unique codes will not be issued after the deadline.

The deadline for this summary is 12 noon 23 October 2020.
