Open 4 Business Portal

To support our businesses during the current COVID-19 crisis, and into the recovery phase, Carlisle City Council is providing free access to Open 4 Business. Open4Business is designed to support businesses locate relevant up to date funding opportunities.

The portal is updated regularly with new local, regional and national funding announcements and can be easily searched by businesses on the basis of their industry, region and business size. The portal then provides information on how to apply for funding and contact funders directly. To search for grants for your business you will first need to register on the Open4Business website

Cash Prizes on Offer through the 2019 IT Service & Support Awards

The IT Service & Support Awards are intended to showcase IT professionals who demonstrate excellence, professionalism and innovation in the IT sector. The awards recognise, promote and acclaim excellence, professionalism and innovation in the industry and celebrate the achievements of individuals and teams for the contribution they make.

The awards categories have been updated for 2019:

  • Best Service Desk (SMB/SME/Enterprise)
  • Best Managed Service Provider (Small/Medium/Large)
  • Service Desk Analyst of the Year
  • Service Desk Manager of the Year
  • Best Automation Project
  • Best Service Desk CX (Customer Experience)
  • Service Desk Improvement Project

The winning candidate in each of the programme's categories will receive a cash prize of either £250 or £500 and a trophy. Winners and finalists will also receive press coverage as well as publicity on the Service Desk Institute (SDI) website

Small businesses in the IT service sector (teams and suppliers) operating in the UK may enter this awards programme. They may self-nominate, nominate their colleagues or enter a team for one or more award categories.

The deadline for entries for the 2019 awards is 19 October 2018.
