FA Futsal Fund

The Fund is provided by the FA and administered by the Football Foundation.

The Football Foundation is the UK’s largest sports charity. Funded by the FA, the Premier League and the Government, it aims to encourage and improve of grassroots sport by funding the development of sports facilities and activities across the country.

Objectives of Fund

Grants are intended to help develop youth futsal programmes across England, to encourage youth involvement in futsal and allow futsal players to play on a regular basis within a structured league.

Value Notes

The total fund value is £300,000. Grants of either £1,500 or £3,000 are available.

Applicants can receive funding to create either one or two new youth futsal leagues. Grants of £1,500 are available per league, and grants will be split over two years.

Successful applicants will also receive a pack of four futsal balls, a ball carrier and a scorecard.

Who Can Apply

Football Associations, football leagues, community groups and other non-profit organisations who plan to develop new youth futsal leagues in England are eligible to apply.

Priority will be given to the following:

  • Youth futsal leagues (under 18s and below).

  • Youth football leagues (under 18s and below).

  • County Football Associations.

The following types of organisation will also be considered:

  • Adult football/futsal leagues setting up youth futsal provisions.

  • Affiliated Clubs wishing to develop youth futsal leagues.

  • Premier League and English Football League Community Trusts.

  • FA University Community Football Hubs.

Restrictions

The following are not eligible for funding:

  • Individuals

  • Profit-making organisations

  • Football or Futsal Clubs wishing to create new teams.

  • Educational establishments.

  • Local authorities.

  • Small sided football providers.

  • Groups wishing to apply for charitable status.

  • Walking Football Clubs.

  • Retrospective costs.

Eligible Expenditure

The funding must be used to establish either one or two new youth futsal leagues.

To be considered a League, programmes must:

  • Run games on a monthly, weekly or bi-weekly basis.

  • Deliver at least seven rounds during a playing season.

  • Be held in appropriate venues using futsal specific equipment.

  • Contain a minimum of eight teams.

  • Be affiliated to a County FA and be administered using FA Full Time.

  • Only use qualified, FA affiliated referees.

  • Have a named welfare officer.

Grants can be spent on the following items:

  • Facility hire.

  • Equipment.

  • Referees/co-ordinator fees.

  • Marketing & promotion.

  • Affiliation & insurance fees.

  • FA safeguarding & welfare courses for on-site league co-ordinators.

  • FA DBS for on-site league co-ordinators.

  • FA First Aid courses for on-site league co-ordinators.

How To Apply

Applications close at 5pm on 2 August 2019. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application on 2 September 2019.
