Open 4 Business Portal

To support our businesses during the current COVID-19 crisis, and into the recovery phase, Carlisle City Council is providing free access to Open 4 Business. Open4Business is designed to support businesses locate relevant up to date funding opportunities.

The portal is updated regularly with new local, regional and national funding announcements and can be easily searched by businesses on the basis of their industry, region and business size. The portal then provides information on how to apply for funding and contact funders directly. To search for grants for your business you will first need to register on the Open4Business website

Daytrippers Foundation – Day Trip Grant

Grants are available for schools, children’s hospices, support groups, charities and not-for-profit organisations to support recreational and educational day trips for groups of children and young people (aged 5-25 years) who have disabilities and life-limiting conditions in the UK.

Value Notes

Awards of up to £30 per child/young person, for groups of at least eight children.

One application per group per year (1 November to 31 October).

Who Can Apply

SEND schools and units, children’s hospices, support groups, charities and not-for-profit organisations based in the UK are all eligible to apply.

Eligible Expenditure

Day trips can be for any destination but must take place in the UK, and occur on a single day.

How To Apply

An application form and guidelines are available on the Daytrippers Foundation website.

There are no deadlines. Applications are accepted throughout the year for day trips taking place between 1 November and 31 October.

Decisions are made on a first-come, first-served basis until all the funds for that financial year are allocated.

Groups will be informed of the outcome by email.

Payment Procedure

Grants will be paid retrospectively upon receipt of monitoring information.
