Open 4 Business Portal

To support our businesses during the current COVID-19 crisis, and into the recovery phase, Carlisle City Council is providing free access to Open 4 Business. Open4Business is designed to support businesses locate relevant up to date funding opportunities.

The portal is updated regularly with new local, regional and national funding announcements and can be easily searched by businesses on the basis of their industry, region and business size. The portal then provides information on how to apply for funding and contact funders directly. To search for grants for your business you will first need to register on the Open4Business website

Applications Open for Bethnal Green Ventures’ Spring Accelerator

The aim of Bethnal Green Ventures Accelerator is to find and support the most talented start-up founders and help them create technology-based solutions to the world’s most pressing social and environmental problems.

The programme’s thematic focus areas are:

  • A sustainable planet

  • A better society

  • Healthy lives

The programme offers:

  • Investment: £30,000 in exchange for 7% equity.

  • Support: An intensive three-month programme of workshops and 1:1 mentoring and life-long support to accelerate a venture.

  • Connections: Access to a network mentors, founders, and investors.

  • Office space: free office space in central London for three months.

  • Partnerships: Additional support from expert partners.

Assistance is available to early-stage technology start-ups addressing a social or environmental challenge. Applicants can come from across the UK but need to be able to work in London during the programme.

For the spring 2020 programme, the sponsor is looking for teams that are using technology in one of the following impact areas: A Sustainable Planet; A Better Society; Healthy Lives.

The deadline for applications is 19 January 2020.
