Funding to Widen Access to Local Hospice Service – Deadline Approaching

| Return|

Adult and children’s hospices have until 27 January 2020 to apply for grants of up to £35,000 to support projects that seeks to address inequality and widen access to hospice care for people experiencing homelessness (or who are vulnerably housed) and people with learning disabilities.

This can be through a number of ways:

  • Putting into practice the recommendations or findings from an organisational or local scoping exercise

  • Piloting a new project based on a robust needs assessment

  • Introduction of an intervention or tool

  • Adapting or developing existing activities where, through the investment of additional resources, greater impact can be achieved through adoption of new roles and approaches.

  • Responding to national policy or research evidence.

There is a total of £450,000 available for this round. It is expected that between 15 and 19 grants will be awarded to support projects running over a period of 18 months.

For this grant programme, a ‘project’ is considered to be a discrete range of activities with a clear purpose, designed to bring about change.

These activities would normally incur costs covering a variety of items, which could include:

  • Staff salary. Funding can cover full-time or part-time staffing, or a combination of both.

  • Equipment, material and resources.

  • Travel.

  • Staff training.

  • Volunteer training

The deadline for applications is 27 January 2020 (5pm).
